Supporting Brain in Hand to grow with contracts for innovation.
Also known as ‘Innovation Procurement’ or “Small Business Research Initiative’ (SBRI), Contracts for Innovation are effectively the public sector procurement of innovation solutions from SMEs.
Typically, a public sector organisation, in this case the NHS, works with a funding body, in this case Innovate UK, to specify a particular problem and then invites SMEs in the private sector to apply to solve the problem. In general, applications come from SMEs with a close-to-market solution that just needs optimising for a specific domain or workflow.
Together We Solve
Our team has been supporting Brain In Hand over many years with grant applications and strategic advice. In this case, Venturenomix was engaged to develop and submit the full applications to SBRI. We:
- Supported the process of grant due diligence
- Managed the grant application project
- Onboarded and managed partners
- Developed a compelling application
Successful Outcomes
Brain In Hand continues to go from strength to strength, delivering on their mission to enable meaningful employment for all. This SBRI projects is another in a long line of grant-funded projects that have accelerated technology development and deployment for the company. The leadership team at Brain In Hand have fully embraced the benefits of grant funding in co-funding their R&D activities.
“Venturenomix helped with every step of the process, and really understood our business. They helped us to raise a considerable grant to continue scaling and helping people.”
