How Cellcraft funded a £1.6m collaborative R&D project
The team at Cellcraft discovered Venturenomix while researching a suitable grant writing partner online. Venturenomix had the right blend of innovation funding expertise and knowledge of the cultivated meat domain where Cellcraft is a leading technology company.
About Cellcraft
Cellcraft® was founded at the University of Cambridge by Yash Mishra and Clarisse Beurrier after discovering a joint passion for sustainable food as a solution to the environmental, health, and ethical challenges that we face. In collaboration with world-leading expert advisers, bioengineers, and scientists, Cellcraft is determined to harness the natural power of cells to create a clean, kind, and responsible way of producing meat.
Together We Solve
CellCraft had secured academic partners (UCL and the University of Cambridge) to form a strong consortium to apply for Innovate UK R&D grant funding. Venturenomix led the process of defining the project (problem, solution, current state-of-the-art, innovation, impact, work plan, budget). The full application was awarded funding to support the £1.6m project from Innovate UK through the Novel and Net-zero Innovation Fund.
Successful Outcomes
The grant funding enables CellCraft to work in partnership with leading UK academics in the field of cultivated meat production. The resulting bio-reactor will position CellCraft as one of the global leaders in this important and emerging sector.
