Today is a good day! Our client, Brain In Hand, has confirmed that the joint equity and grant investment from 24 Haymarket and Innovate UK has been officially confirmed – a significant win for all parties.

We at Venturenomix were part of the team that got the funding over the line with our role focused on the grant application to Innovate UK’s Combined Investor Partnerships call.

What is Innovate UK’s Combined Investor Partnership?

Investor partnership programmes bring together:

• Innovate UK’s expertise in identifying innovation and using grant funding to change the risk profile of businesses
• investor partners’ aligned funding and expertise in identifying opportunities and teams that can best use extra investment finance

This approach gives your business access to the capital investment it needs to develop and commercialise your innovations.

Innovate UK has selected investor partners who have demonstrated that they have the credibility, capability, capacity and appetite to invest in innovative, technology-led businesses in areas that align with our objectives in programme areas. The investor partners will work with Innovate UK to invite innovative businesses to apply for grant funding alongside their investment.

How much funding does Innovate UK’s Investor Partnership fund unlock?

There is not a fixed amount of funding in either grant or equity, so you have the opportunity to negotiate with the investor partner and grant funder for the amount you need.

In this case, Brain In Hand secured over £900k in grant funding and £1.6m in equity. The total amount you apply for is led by conversations with the investment partner, in this case 24 Haymarket. There is a list of approved investment partners on the Innovate UK Website.
