The EUIPO’s SME Fund 2026 is a European Commission grant scheme that reimburses small businesses for the cost of protecting their intellectual property.

 Who Can Apply?

Any SME established in the EU or Ukraine. Applications can be submitted by the business owner, an employee, or an authorised representative. Reimbursements go directly to the SME’s bank account.

What’s Covered?

Vouchers are available to reimburse costs for:

  • Trade mark applications
  • Design registrations
  • Patent filings
  • Plant variety rights
  • IP Scan services (a tailored review of your IP strategy)

How Much Can You Get Back?

Up to 75% on IP right applications, and up to 90% on an IP Scan – depending on your country or region. For many SMEs, this makes formal IP protection viable for the first time.

How to Apply

Apply via the EUIPO portal. Once approved, you’ll receive a voucher to use when filing your IP application. Reimbursement follows automatically after the filing is complete.

Next Steps

Early application is key as funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until December 2026. If you’re considering protecting your IP, now is the time to act. Speak to us today to assess your eligibility and secure your funding.
